The Return of Adel

Select a new party. Head downward, climb the first ladder on the right, go upward and continue right. Head upward, use the Save Point, and continue. [*FMV*]. Prepare for battle.

Strategy: Adel uses Holy, Meteor and Ultima. She'll regularly drain HP from Rinoa (700+) and cast one of the spells immediately after. Draw and cast Regen on Rinoa and heal her if she takes major damage. Don't use GFs, magic or Limit Breaks that damage all opponents. Gravity based attacks have no effect.Game over if Rinoa gets KO'd.

Strategy: Use normal attacks on the first 10 sorceresses, as their defense is very low. After dealing with the decoys you'll meet the final sorceress. When she's almost dead a countdown from five will begin and when it reaches zero, she'll cast Ultima. Quickly destroy her with GF Eden or Limit Breaks.

At Edea's house head upward to the beach via the back door. [FMV]. On the beach there's a Draw Point (Triple). Ascend the giant chain until you reach the three doors on the left. The doors lead to locations on the World Map:

FINAL CARD QUEST - CC Group/Card Queen

(Complete your Card Collection)

Cards: All rare cards except those exclusive to the Card Queen Quest.

You must have completed the CC Group Card Quest at Balamb Garden. Enter the first door from Ultimecia's castle to Grandidi Forests and head northwest to the Chocobo Holy Ground to get a Chocobo to ride. Travel southward along the east side of the Esthar continent towards Kashkabald Desert. Southeast there's a shore you can get onto land. Find the Ragnarok near the secret fourth door. Get off the Chocobo and into Ragnarok. Press [D] to go to the cockpit.

You'll meet Xu at the hanger entrance, below are the locations of the CC Group members:

Jack - Aisle right of the Hangar

Club - 2F Aisle, near Air Room

Diamond - Main Hall

Spade - Room under stairs

Heart - Hangar

King - Put Quistis in your party and challenge her in the Air Room

Joker - Bottom of the elevator

The CC Group holds all the rare cards (except those exclusive to the Card Queen Quest) you haven't collected or have Card Modified. Each member plays by a certain region's rules and they'll add or omit rules according to their discretion.

  1. You can Card Mod your rare cards you won from the CC group and challenge them on the Ragnarok to regain them again and Card Mod again.
  2. Lunar Base Escape Pod Crash Site

    Cards: Chubby Chocobo, Doomtrain, Irvine, Kiros, Phoenix

    The Card Queen will be at the crash site, Abadan Plains, the southern most tip of Esthar (south of Tears' Point) on Disc 4. You can challenge her for the rare cards from the Card Queen Quest even if you've Card Modified them already.

  3. After finishing all quests, enter the secret fourth door near Ragnarok's landing spot to return to Ultimecia's Castle.

Head up to the castle entrance. Reorganize your party. Your commands and abilities will be sealed except for attack. You must defeat the bosses to unlock them: {Item}, {Magic}, {GF}, {Draw}, {Command Ability}, {Limit Break}, {Resurrection}, {Save}. Head up the staircase of the main hall to fight the first boss.

Boss - Sphinxara

Level: ??, HP: 30,000Win: 1x Megalixir, 30 AP

Strategy: Just keep attacking. If it summons monsters ignore them and concentrate on the boss. Release seal {Magic} or {Draw}

Head right and enter the door. Descend the staircase and head upward to the Art Gallery. Note the clock painted on the floor (you can get a good view by going right on the 2F), its three hands pointing to VIII (hours), IV (minutes) and VI (seconds). Examine the 12 paintings 12 on both levels then examine the large painting on the left wall. Select the titles: Vividarium, Intervigilium and Viator. Engage the next boss.

Win: 1x Elem Atk, 30 AP

Strategy: Trauma can heavily damage your party with "Mega Pulse Cannon". Ignore the Droma/s as Trauma can regenerate them and it kills them by Draining HP from them anyway. Release Seal {Draw} or {Magic}.

Enter the top door and descend the stairs to the Flood Gate. Go through the open door on the left to the Prison Cell. Grab the key and fight another boss.

Boss - Red Giant

Level: 52, HP: 30,000

Draw: Demi, GF Pandemona

Notes: Very strong against physical attacks

Win: 1x Diamond Armour

Strategy: Although Red Giant has strong defense against normal attacks, it's weak against magic. Cast Meltdown and Demi. Finish it with normal attacks.

Return to the stairway hall and switch to the second team. Head up the staircase, through the door and across the chandelier. It will drop you down into the Grand Hall. Examine the hatch and descend the stairs into the wine cellar and fight another boss. There's a hidden Draw Point (Aura) in the top-right corner.

Boss - Tri-Point

Level: 51, HP: 22,400

Draw: Haste, Tornado, Bio, GF Siren

Notes: Very weak against Fire. Weak against Ice. Absorbs Thunder

Win: 1x Rocket Engine, 30 AP

Strategy: Tri-Point will alter its weakness between Fire and Ice. Junction Thunder to Elem-Def as it uses its Mega Spark to counterattack every move against it. If it casts Scan, it's an indication that the boss will use its Onrush attack, which is three times the power of its normal attacks.

Go back up and head upward to the fountain. Enter the chapel and up the stairs to the right. Approach the key until it drops or walk towards it, by holding [W], to grab it. Return to the Grand Hall and use the switch point on the right. Take the primary party to the Flood Gate to find the Armory Key. Enter the right door to the Armory and prepare to fight.

Strategy: Blind and Silence all parts of the boss with ST-Atk. Use GF Alexander. When defeated, Gargantua will rise from the ground.

Boss - Gargantua

Level: 54, HP: 15,400

Draw: Flare, Bio, Quake, GF Cerberus

Win: 1x Magic Armlet, 42 AP

Strategy: Gargantua has most status changes in its attacks - Sleep, Berserk, Confuse, Death, Curse, Slow. Cast Meltdown, Aura and use Limit Breaks.

Switch to the secondary party, head left return to the main hall, go up the staircase and head left. Head upward to reach two elevators.

Enter the left elevator (with at least 2 females) and switch parties. Take the primary party up the stairs and left through the passageway. Reach the elevators and switch teams (The left elevator must go up). Take the secondary party left to get the Floodgate Key then return to the elevator and choose whether to switch.

Return to the Flood Gate. Insert the key on the right of the Prison Cell door and examine the lever. Return to the main hall, head upward to the chandelier and drop down. Get the Treasure Vault Key from the courtyard fountain.

Enter the chapel and examine the organ. Play the notes in this order: DO, RE, MI, FA and DO, one at a time until each one fades away. Return to the fountain, head up right and find the gate now open. Go through and follow the water-drained path to the right. Get the Rosetta Stone from the top right corner. Go downward to unlock the shortcut to the Prison Cell.

Return to the Grand Hall and use the Switch Point on the right. Depress the lever and switch teams. Head downward to the corridor and enter the door on the left. Examine the four coffins in this order 3, 1, 4, 2 (from the left) to battle another boss.

Boss - Catoblepas

Level: 57, HP: 58,500

Draw: Meteor, GF Alexander

Notes: Weak against Earth and Water. Absorbs Thunder

Win: 1x Status Atk, 30 AP

Strategy: Catoblepas will cast Meteor upon its defeat. Ensure your party members have high HP before you finish off the boss.

Exit and return to the main hall. Go up the staircase, enter the door, go across the chandelier and out onto the balcony.

Boss - Krysta

Level: 44, HP: 16,000

Draw: Holy, GF Carbuncle

Notes: Ice has no effect.

Win: 1x Elem Guard, 30 AP

Strategy: Has strong attacks and Ultima. Draw and cast Holy. Use Limit Breaks. The boss will cast Ultima upon its defeat so be prepared.

Return to the main hall and switch teams. Enter the chapel and go up the stairs. Cross the bridge and enter the door on the left. Ascend the large spiral staircase until you reach the pendulum. Jump on it to cross into the alcove. Head out and engage the boss.

Boss - Tiamat

Level: 58, HP: 89,600

Draw: Flare, GF Eden

Notes: Strong against Fire and Lightning. Wind has no effect.

Win: 1x Status Guard, 30 AP.

Strategy: Junction Thunder and Fire to Elem-Def (or Flare) to absorb damage from the Dark Flare attack. Unleash Limit Breaks.

Everything unsealed. Head back, jump on the pendulum.

Omega Weapon

This is an optional challenge for the powerful and daring. Take the desired party to the courtyard fountain and Switch parties. Take the secondary party to the bell, the right path of the front hall staircase. Descend the stairs and examine the bell ringer to trigger a message: "Monsters can be heard roaring far away". There's a one-minute timer to find the boss. Switch parties and head into the chapel. Engage Omega Weapon.

Boss - Omega Weapon

Level: 100, HP: 1,161,000

Draw: Holy, Flare, Ultima, Meteor

Notes: Absorbs all elements.

Win: 1x Three Stars, 250 AP, Proof of Omega.

Strategy: Remove all junctions to Elem-Atk.

Attacks: Megido Flame - 9998 damage to party

Light Pillar - 9999 damage to one member

Gravija - 3/4 HP damage to party

Terra Break - repetitive damage to party.

Junction Death to ST-Def as Omega Weapon will use LV5 Death on its first turn. Cast Meltdown, summon GF Cerberus, cast Aura on all and use Holy War or Hero on everyone. Keep one party member at full HP to maintain Invincibility and Aura status on party and revive fallen members. The Proof of Omega can be viewed under the Information screens in the Tutorial.

Go to the very top of the Clock Tower, head out, go left across the hands of the clock and descend the two ladders. Go upward to the final Save Point. Enter the master room to confront Ultimecia.

Boss - Ultimecia (Sorceress)

Level: 65, HP: 43,000

Draw: Haste, Slow, Reflect, Demi

Notes: Weak against Poison. Holy has no effect

Strategy: Ultimecia will randomly select three members to fight her first. Fallen members will be absorbed into time and cannot be revived; they'll be replaced by other members. Ultimecia uses a stock of powerful spells - Quake, Dispel, Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, Tornado, Stop, Holy. Summon GF Doomtrain. Draw and cast Demi. Maelstrom is identical to Edea's attack, which causes moderate to high damage with Slow and Curse status. Once defeated she'll summon her GF, Griever.

Boss - Griever

Level: 65, HP: 129,932

Draw: Bio, Quake, Tornado

Notes: Earth has no effect. Absorbs Poison.

Strategy: Griever uses Demi, Pain and Gravija. It can blow the entire stock of a certain spell from a member. Cast Meltdown, Aura and use Limit Breaks. When Griever is near defeat it'll use Shockwave Pulsar so make sure your party has high HP to survive. Use Limit Breaks to finish it off if it's not defeated.

Boss - Ultimecia/Griever junction

Level: 65, HP: 192,807

Draw: Firaga, Thundaga, Blizzaga

Strategy: The Helix is Ultimecia's magic amplifier; each increases the damage by 25%. Ignore it and concentrate on the boss. The boss can have only 2 Helix at a time, but by combining 2 Helixes she can use her 'Great Attractor' attack, which does extremely high damage to your party so it's advisable to destroy one of them if she summons two helixes.

Boss - Ultimecia

Level: 65, HP: 428,992

Draw: Flare, Holy, Apocalypse

Strategy: Ultimecia uses Flare, Apocalypse and Ultima. Hell's Judgment reduces all members to 1 HP. Ultimecia has the ability to blow off the entire stock of a certain magic from a member. Ultimecia draws Apocalypse from her lower half. After Ultimecia says "Reflect on your childhood" her lower half will become available for you to draw Apocalypse from. Don't bother attacking the bottom, concentrate on the top. Cast Meltdown, Aura and unleash Squall's Renzokuken. If Ultimecia uses Hell's Judgment, cast Aura on all, use Holy War or Hero and execute Limit Breaks.
